The usual story is to have a website built and wait for business to improve. Later you realise you have virtually no web traffic and no enquiries because real potential customers who have not already heard of your business can't find your website. Calling it an online brochure fools nobody these days.

If you design first and react later there is a possibility that your website is designed badly for search engines and is difficult to optimise. You would have been better off with a website designed to be found in the first place.

The SEO business has a reputation for sneaky tricks and subterfuge to hoodwink search engines into ranking web pages higher. That is not the approach used here. You can get what you want from Google by giving Google what it wants. Google wants those websites that satisfy the user to appear high in its results so your design had better be good. It has to be good for the user in a particular way that Google can understand, and that's where I can help.

Here is a graph from Google Analytics which shows visits from Google's organic search for a clients website. Google has made a series of updates that rewards quality websites. Around about 16th June 2011 Google Panda Update 2.2 was rolled out and the number of visits to this example improved by 47%. This website employs some design features so Google interprets this website as a quality website. Frankly I have to agree, but then I would wouldn't I?
